Novak says Novatek to launch debut line of Arctic LNG-2 in 2023

BEIJING, Oct 19 (PRIME) -- A debut production line of the Arctic LNG-2 liquefied natural gas facility of independent gas producer Novatek will be launched until the end of 2023, and first sales of LNG will start at the beginning of 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Thursday.

Russia is presently the world’s fourth-largest LNG seller, he said.

“Considering projects under way, Russia can become China’s main reliable LNG exporter,” he added.

Russia’s energy exports to China have increased 17% since the beginning of 2023, Novak said, adding that he sees potential for further growth.
